In 2001, Simon Levelt co-financed the construction of a school in the village Basseria on Ambootia Tea Estate. The Ambootia Simon Levelt Primary School is built by the management of the tea estate. The school is expanded with an auditorium in 2008. Today 40 toddlers and 120 young children follow theirs lessons in the school.

Computers are funded with donations from customers of Simon Levelt so that the children are trained in computer skills.
In 2007 the construction of another primary school with two classrooms for 60 children was co-financed by Tierra Nova on the Mullootar Tea Estate.
